Im looking for some help with my buddys caprice, we are going to start bagging it very soon (collecting parts now) and was wondering what to use for drop spindles. I have heard you can use s10 2inch drop spindles, is this true? Its going to be laying 22's at some point, either now or later so we are prepping it for that. I saw AIM sells caprice drop spindles but only for 91+, this will be for any 86, are they the same? Any advice from someone who knows or has bagged a caprice would be appreciated. Thanks guys

doesn't it use the same stuff as astro vans.

s10 spindles are not the same at all. the only thing that you can swap parts with is an Astro van as far as I know, and even then I dont think the spindles are the same. Only the control arms, tie rods, and upper balljoints. The lower ball joints are different so I'm pretty sure that means the spindles arent interchangeable.

I just bagged my caprice. It lays front crossmember on a 27" tire with stock spindles. All I did was pie cut the frame for control arm clearance, and do tie rod notches.

umm... you need to reword that sentence... it makes no sense.

If the 86 has same spindles as the 91 you can get belltech spindles from streettrends.com. Pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

notch for tie rods, trim spring pocket for bag clearance, take out wheelwells, notch frame for lower control arms to swing up high enuf, and itll lay flat as a board up front... have fun in the rear tho!
