Anyone with a 88-98 bodydropped fullsize, what kind of PSI are you running in the front to drive your truck? Ive got the 5.7l motor so I know its gonna be front heavy but to get to a decent turning height I am running around 130 PSI. Does this sound right? I have Slam RE 8s in the front. Thanks.

buddy of mine has re7s in the frt and he said at 120 or so he can turn and clear the 20s since hes b/d but i think his rear is like 60 or so

Cool, thanks. I just wanted to make sure my digital gauge was reading right.

that sounds high for an re8. what I would do is drive onto some 2x4s so the wheels are on them and air it out and see if the frame goes lower than the 2x4, you might not be squishing the bag.

another way to tell is if it takes 100 psi or so to even start to move.

A friend of mine who was used to hydraulics put bags on his 81 fullsize with a 350, he used re7's in the front, and was complaining about how much air it took to raise it up. I told him about the bag not squishing, he checked and that was the problem, so he put a little more cup on the bottom side and was clearing the fenders at 80psi.

The bigger the bag, the more VOLUME but the lower PRESSURE. I agree an OBS fullsize with a 350 is not exactly light, but with an RE8 I wouldnt think 130 psi is needed to drive. Maybe more OBS guys can chime in.

I know I have a little play in the front cups to go down a little farther once I get my wiring harness relocated so that may be it. It rides killer so I am not that worried about it. I just wanted a little feedback.

And I am putting about 130 in the front to TURN effectively not just drive. Straight roads are no problem. Turning is the key.

130 in an R8 sounds a little high. what size tire? 120 in an R8 should bottom the upper control arm out on the frame on an 88-98.

yep 110 locks out the ball joints on my truck and i get weird ass camber

Its a 255 35 20. I can lock the uppers out on the frame at full lift. I am running a dakota digital gauge. Whats everyones experiences with the accuracy on these. It seems to be a little fishy my gauge reads 120ish when my fender is at the tire and I can lift it a couple more inches and its like 130-140. Just doesnt seem to be accurate. I am running 150 psi senders

same tire setup my buddy runs and he said with stones he was at 150 to beable to turn now 120 or so hes able to turn but hes using autometer air guages
