yellow relay

ok i got a 99 ford ranger. theres a yellow relay that is under my dash and it will not stop buzzin any one no what it is for

yellow, at least in GM is generally SRS.

what dose srs mean

srs = Something? Restraint System its for the air bags in the dash and horn when you crash not the ones that make the truck go up and down lol do you have a srs or AIR BAG LIGHT ON?

I own a 99 Rang, where is this relay under the dash? I can give mine a look and find out what it is....

i think it is supplemental restraignt system, but other than that i am almost positive that it is with the air bag system. all airbag wiring is wrapped in yellow sleeves and the connectors are even yellow. so i would assume the relay could be too. and especially since it is under the dash like that rather than in the relay/fuse panel under the hood. often times manufacturers do that so that the common person will not mess with it and accidently deploy the system. but if it is buzzing it is either bad or going bad and should probably be replaced. i would take it to someone that messes with that like the dealer just so that you are not responisble if the system gets tripped. i own a car audio shop and have heard of people getting an air bag to the face just by unplugging them just an fyi.

yea, airbags come out at approx 200 mph, spewing toxic dust that right on the unit says not to inhale it. but it blows up in your face?!? i have a few vids up on youtube of airbag deployment. search tuckntiremaz and you will find them. i always thought srs was saftey restraint system, supplemental sounds good too though.

the yellow relay under my column makes the turn signal sound and will buzz like crazy if one of my grounds is not secured (which happens alot while im putting this thing back together)
