79-83 speedometer cable

I need to know if it goes into the driver or passenger side of the trannsmission. The celica 5 speed swap has mine overstretched to the passenger side and if i put a new one in it only last a few days.

don't know about your year, but my 88 (22r 5 spd) is on the passenger side so if yours came with a driver side one, & you need a longer one, you can go out to a yard & scab one off an 84-88 2wd 22r 5spd

Mine is PS mounted from the factory. But mines a factory SR5 with a 5 speed.
