well its completely black outside, Im getting a very light orange flame coming out of opened manifold, Consistant and a little bit of a backfire i think... Is this bad?

why are you running an open manifold in the first place? is it carb or fuel injected?

the only time i have ever had flames coming out an open manifold was on the derby cars.....

lol, Because i just put this motor in and still making adjustments, and havent had time to put the exhaust one yet.

timing is the only reason i believe you should be seeing flames. unless you are hammering on the gas with an open header, which i heard is bad for the valves? i dunno, check the timing, 6 degrees before top dead center on that motor.

no exhaust manifold or header is a big no no, it can hurt the valves if its ran to long

yea Jim, My timings definitely off, I've been workin alot, so its just parked right now... until i get check it out...

Parker, Im not worried about the exhaust valves really... These carbed 2.2L's are Junk, It didn't run long, My V8's almost done ... Few more weeks, hahaha, Finally.

I'll let you's know whats up by the weekend
