I have an 84 crew cab wedgeback car hauler. 30ft long, 18ft deck that I haul my Jeep on. I got a good deal on the front tires but it is time for some rear tires now. Do I need to use the g Load tires or will E Loads hold up? The truck weighs 8000lbs empty, the Jeep should be 4-4500lbs, plus gear and people for a trip.
The tire guy told me the E loads are rated to 3100lbs each in a dual set-up, and the G Loads were only 3400lbs in a dual set-up. With only a 1200lb difference in load it doesn't seem to make sense to spend $1000 more for 4 tires.
I may be getting ready to tow my son's truck also, but tthat should be no more than another 500lbs on the truck. I do plan on adding firestone airbags to help raise the back up. It tail drags bad even empty.
Any help or insight would be a great help. I posted a small pic of the truck when I bought it.

The tire guy is telling you about one specific model of tire, or he's misleading you. I had load range G Goodyear 19.5's on my 3500HD wrecker and they're like 4400 lbs single, 4100ish/ea dual. Keep in mind they'll tend to be much higher pressure and ride rough as hell...

Compare sizes and brands/models in the different load ranges before you take that dude's word.
