Does anyone know how to fix this gauge problem? I have a 98 Yukon that when you turn the key to start it the gas and oil needles almost spin all the way around. Any help would be nice.

as long as they still work after i wouldnt worry about it, i know that on those newer yukons you can tap the bottom of the dashboard while the truck is off and the gauges will jump all the way around. so i dont know if its a problem or not.

Do they eventually start working correctly or are they all over the place? I know on NBS GM vehicles the stepper motor would go out on the gauges all the time. Not sure if its the same problem your having but there are 2 options if it is the case 1 get a new gauge cluster or 2 replace the small motors in each faulty gauge. You can sometimes find them on ebay.

My 99 tahoe is the same way, but they seem accurate after you start the engine.
