hey bud ive been told to contact you on wiring my motor. the motor is out of a 86 but the truck is a 91. when i was looking for a motor for my 86 they said that 86-87 where different then 88-91 whats the difference? i have my 86 in my 91 and i can tget any spark i followed the haynes manual for wiring the coil and im not getting any power.

Hey man I can tell you the main difference is the distributor and on the passenger side firewall there is one of those retarded sensors missing it isn't really that bad wiring wise it will all match up but vacuum wise you will have a few less hoses or if you run a weber you won't have to worry about it. The distributor is different but I think the wires are the same so you won't have any problems if you do theres a little resistor or something that bolts up to the core support right below the coil on the 86-87's that the 91 won't have you may need that not real sure. I just did a swap from an 86 to a 91 but I swapped the whole harness because my 91's had been hacked to shit and it was easier than fixing the one that was in it.
