Well i just got my back end welded up, and i was just curious if u all attached the skin to anything.....I have square tubing in an X welded from bed corners, but nothing actually attaching to the skin in the middle...

The middle of the combo pops in and out with no effort at all...So would it be good to weld a piece of pipe from the brace to the back of it or what??

I just dont want paint or body work problems in the future because of it

Make sure you brace the bottom really good if you plan on driving low. Or it will come right off if you hit somthing or go out a driveway too low.

i braced mine & used agitator (sp?) foam kind of like the expanding spray stuff for about a 1" gap so it would slightly flex when the bed moves. i've seen some where people solid weld them & they have their filler crack...

Keep in mind that allot of the factory panels will do the same thing if you do the same. Push on the middle of your door and it will pop in and out as well. Some movement it good.

if the x brace is close enough, i would get some automotive heavy body foam and put it between it. the yellow junk from homedepot is for houses NOT autos. it expands to much.

^^ that's what i meant...it's made by Fusor...not the home depot crap. i was just trying to give him an idea what i was talking about.

i build a pretty good subframe u might call it, i lay on some seam sealer on the outer tubs that are gonna be against the skin. put the skin on, start welding the seam sealer will make a good bond so there wont be any movement

We reccomend a Z shape for propper bracing.
