On my Mazda ext cab, would it be alright to run a 1 piece driveshaft? I did a 302 swap and only need 60.5" from the trans seal to the middle of the rear u-joint. Its also bd'ed 5" and the driveshaft is already almost to the middle of the rear cab wall. So its not like I'm losing a lot of interior room over using a 2 piece. The trans is set up at 0 deg and the rear end is 5 deg upward.

There is no reason that you can't run a one piece driveshaft. A good driveshaft place can also tell you what size o.d. tubing that you should use in relation to the length of the shaft to keep problems to a minimum.

thanks very much, I talked with a shop here and they suggested 3.5" steel for it

Are those degrees on the rearend and transmission at ride height or dropped, because the two angles need to cancel out other wise you are going to have a wicked vibration at speed.

thats at ride height, I originally set it up to use a 2 piece ds. So that probably will have to be changed, I know.
