ive got a 97 tacoma....what can i use as far as front axle go..........what is everyone using? i want to go with a solid axle and dont know how the steering or any of that shit will have to be modified.......................................including width of front axle and how it will line up to the drive shaft,ext (the whole 9 yards)

79-85 Toyota front axle. Go do a search for Toyota SAS on Pirate4x4.com. You will find more info than you know what to do with. Read it, then read it again. And don't ask questions there.

cant use an old yota axle.the driveshaft has to come out on the drivers side on a tacoma instead of the pass side like all the older toys.not sure which is the best axle to use but i think alot of tacos are done with full width ford axles with a driver side drop.

this is how my lil bros was done on his tacoma.

(ill try to find a pic - i kinda put all his memories "away" for a bit after he died)

anyway, it was done by tennessee offroad shop in nashville tn.

well fuck! im gunna sell it back to yota! for ruffly $10,000!!!!!!!!!(i payed 3,400 for it!)but i might buy a dbl cab 4x4 !!!!!!any one seen these lifted?

LUCKY DID HE HAVE A TACO OR AN OLDER PICKUP?IF IT WAS TACO,WHAT YEAR WAS IT?HAVE A BUDDY WITH A 98 TACO AND HIS DIFF IS ON THE DRIVER SIDE.OLD YOTA AXLE IS ON THE PASS SIDE.

Ive seen a lot of these lifted with a solid axle in the front. Your gonna want to use a drivers drop dana 44. There are some out there that are the width you need. Search pirate 4x4, theres a TON of info there that you could use to build a nice SAS for a tacoma.
