I need some pics of side draft carbs on toyotas. Im tring to figure out where all the vents are supposed to go. There is two holes in the manifold and another vent on one of the carbs. Also where do I get the vacume for the distributer or do i need to hook that up. Thanks in advance. PICS are good, Im kind of retarded

the "vents" are vacuum ports and should be sealed if you arent using them. The single one on the carb goes to the vacuum advance ( you should really use a mechanical advance distributor with sidedrafts) and the two on the manifold can be combined and run to the brake booster. You may need a vaccum storage ball added to have good power brake performance though.

IS there anything you dont know?

What is a vaccume storage ball? Does anyone have a mechanical distributer that I could buy just to get the thing running. Or will it be ok for now. I plan on reubuilding the motor and doing some other perfomance stuff shortly but I want to drive it a little before I tear it down again

LC has the distributor new, i would not buy a used one unless you know how to rebuilt it incase it has a bad spring or something that may be hard to diagnose. a vacuum storage ball is just what it sounds like. it is a ball with two ports on it. it is just a storage tank. you can find them on tons of fords and chevys. they are just a black ball with two ports. they use them on cruise controls alot.

So here are some pics of my cabsSo the small brass colored nipple towards the front goes to the distributor, the large nipple in the back goes to the brake booster and obviously the one on the top of the carb is the fuel inlet. There is two nipples on the distributer so how does that work? Thanks again guys

here is a pics of the carbs on my carolla, you can use a distributor off a a 4kc which came stock in a toyota starlet from the early 80s. mine is off of an 81. you do not need a vacume ball. everything will run fine as long as all lines are hooked up properly
