Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I didn't know where else to put it. Any trad. bodydrop guys with LS1's have issues with the steering shaft hitting the headers? if so what was your solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

edit: it's an s-series

block hugger headers should solve your problem. sanderson makes them.

I'm using the ones that came out of the TA I got the engine out of at the moment. I know it's not the best way to go and buying aftermarket headers would solve the issue, but I'm just trying to figure out the best way to go about modifying them. A couple ppl have said they've dented their headers, a few have said to move the steering column and another is to chop the mounts. I'm just trying to see what other ppl have done before a decision is made on which way to go about doing it.

well if you want to take it the easy way i head that some camaro stock mainfolds would work but i chose to go the right way and did the aftermarket headers .. if your dumping so much money into the truck already with the ls1 why not spend the extra change and get the right fitting headers??
