I am gearing up to start in on the Mazda again. I have yet to weld in my Notch so I want to ask you all out there how tall is your rear Notch. I made a set a few years ago but I am now concerned it will not be deep enough to lay frame on 17" Escalade wheels. Total Tire Wheel height is about 23". I did all my math and See I am cutting it close. I may have to go back to the drawing board and fab up new Bridges. My current Bridge would put the bottom of the Notch just above the top of the frame.

just raise it up a little when you weld it. BUT, you should always plan on running a bigger wheel than you ever imagine. just incase. my notch is 1.5 inches above the frame and it is way more than i need to lay a 18. all you should need is 1/2 above frame. just to be safe.

That 1/2 to 1" is where my current notch would be. What is your total tire Hight.

If your running a tire thats 23" tall then your center point is 11.5" then you add 1.5" for the axle. With the truck flat on the ground the bottom of the notch should be at least 13" off the ground. If you have the truck on jack stands leave the frame with the ground then measure from the ground to the bottom of the frame then add 13" to that so if your frame is 14" off the ground you would add 14"+13" so the bottom of the notch should be 27" off the ground. Hope this helps.

Yep that's the Math that I did. It computes out to work. I just wanted to know what others have. Also Thought that maybe I would have to weld it in a bit hi. Look would be the only thing I would be sacrificing.
