I've got a 1990 chevy cc 3 3 silverado r3500 but it looks like an 80's body style (not the newer bodystyle). I'm looking for some 3 inch drop spindles but not sure what to run - if I need the 73-87 spindles or 89-2000 spindles. Looking for Belltech, DJM, or Western chassis. I don't know what the different between the c/k 3500 and the r3500 is. That is where the problem lies.

Thank you for the help!!

No difference.the 88-91 crew cab was unchanged from the 1987 model.

Leedogg is correct. I have a 88 3+3 that I just bought spindles for. If yours is a Squarebody style even though it is a 90 model you need the spindles for the 73-87 model. I bought the Western Chassis 3 inch drop spindles from Summit Racing P/N#13600. With shipping they were right at $400. Hope this helps.

Both are correct ur truck on paper is an R30, all actuality it's a C30, R30's if I'm not mistaken were TBI trucks, all parts for your truck body wise start at 81 and carry on through 91. Square body started in 73 carried on in 1/2t and 3/4t up to 87. One ton went all the way through from 73-91 with subtle changes. Your spindles will be labeled 73-91. Hope this works for ya...

I pulled the tire and caliper off to double check, the ones on it are the 89-00 model. Would the 73-87you ones work? I don't want to buy the wrong part that it is a crucial steering component. Found the belltech #3700 was the ones that were recommended.

If you have the 1990 crewcab it is a squarebody (81-87 bodystyle). If it has the 89-00 model spindles on it then someone has screwed with the front end. I am not even sure that the new style spindle will bolt in correctly as the ball joints and tie rod ends are different. If you want take a pic of the caliper and spindles and I will post pics of mine to compare them.

No problem. I will get some this weekend. I even went to Oreillys to have them look up the spindle and they pulled the same one. I was unsure so I pulled the wheel and was surprised. Everything on the truck is all original, nothing seems to have been changed. I drove it home when I bought it. I has a smooth ride. I auto parts guy said that it was build when they were switching between the R/V series back to the C/K series so it said it may be a mix of sorts. It is a chevy r3500. When I google spindles or parts for it, nothing comes back.

My question following that is, I do need the upper plate and bottom cups right for the bags. Not just the cups.

Tulsaprez, do yourself a favor and when you look for any kind of parts for that truck, just look up 87 Chevy c30. You will save youself alot of trouble. I have an 88 r3500 and I've learned to tell parts counters its an 87.

true that- unless it is engine related- I tell them it's a 87 too.
