88 2.5L has a mind of its own. I drove around a while back, and noticed it would stall at redlights and stop signs while down shifting, and the engine has its normal come down in RPMs. I thought it was due to the Efan, sucking the life out of the engine. So after some electrical work, and a high amp alternator, it seemed to be cured. 2 days of good solid driving, the engine still seemed to stumble a bit at down shift and when I dropped the clutch, but it didnt stall. All of the sudden this morning it started stalling again when I attempt to stop, Also I did notice that I seem to hear like a "whine" while I accelerate, not sure about that, but I'm wondering if the stalling issue could be due to a fuel filter clog, or a vapor lock issue, vacuum leak??? IT always starts back up, and runs then, just always wants to stall on stoping. Also its either me or the truck or combo of both, but I seem to really have to heavy foot the accelerator at times on take off or it wants to stumble...maybe jsut me getting used to a stick shift again. I'm kinda out of ideas at the moment, I'm a bit stumped...and I dont want to chase ghost bugs and have what ever it be the last thing that gets checked.
