im running into some issues....

1)my driveshaft is hitting the back of the cab, which is probably due to my pinion angle being off, but i thought i have heard people say that the cab shouldn't need to be tunneled just to lay frame? do most people have to tunnel theres or beat it in with a hammer or anything? personally, i don't care what the bottom of my cab looks like so i will beat the crap out of it if it will keep me from tunneling it.

2)where is the best place to put an angle finder on the transmission and rear end to measure the pinion angle. and if i remember correctly, if the transmission is pointing down 1 degree, the rear end should be pointing up 1 degree to match? and that would be at ride height, is this correct?

3)my wheelbase is now 1" shorter than it was stock (left the truck at the wrong shop, now im fixing it all). will this hurt anything, i know there is some play with the driveshaft moving in and out of the transmission, but is this enough to be concerned about. id rather not buy new link bars and redo all the bag mounts if i don't have to.

i think thats it for now, thanks in advance for any help.

ur gonn have to tunnel it. and is ur wheel base only shorter when laid out?

you do not have to tunnel your cab to lay frame. beat it with a hammer in a spot or two yes, but tunnel no.

what you've heard probably depends on the tire diameter they are using. taller tire moves the rear axle pinion up higher, therefore the driveshaft goes higher up. and some of them might be ex cabs vs std cabs. i think the ex cabs have a carrier bearing. i know the older longbed yotas do.

personnally i dont beat anything with a hammer. you got plans down the road for a body drop? well i would just tunnel it and be done with it. leave lots of room for it. why you need to angle find it all. as long as theres no binding then you should be good. same as the wheel base, if done correctly it shouldnt move much at all, but if it does just make sure the drive shaft doesnt pull outta the tranny or shove slam into the back of it

Dont beat your cab thats crazy. Stick you hand under there and feel where it hitting there is a lip, figure out where on the lip the driveshaft is touching and take a sawzall and snip a round spot out where it is hitting.

Tunnel it, and leave some room. If you drive with the ass low the axle will go higher in the frame, an in that case it would rub harder, and wear into the drive line, throwing it off balance, and with a lot of friction could cut it in two.
