How to clean a gas tank

Its time to throw my gas tank back in and I need to know what to clean the inside of it with. its been sitting with the pump in it and NO gas in it for about 3 yrs. What do I do? Should I just pour some gas in it and let it sit for a couple days then drain it and dry it out?...please help

If I recall correctly you put some gas in and a chain of some sort. Get the chain moving around to help knock off anything that might be in there. I am sure someone else can chime in with a better idea.

purple power takes care of all the old junk in there and gets it ready for new gas?

eastwood sells something that should clean a tank if my memory is correct

I used muriatic (SP?) acid and sloshed it around for a few then poured it out and used that tank liner shit you get at oreilly's I think its made by POR-13 I can't remeber its a liner keeps it all good.

thanks guys, I think im gonna go with the eastwood kit. Everything I have bought from them has worked pretty good.
