i just noticed the front of my truck sits and rides on the bump stops.. its a 93 ck3500 with factory front bump stops.. the truck never rode rough... what have other people done when they are riding on the front stops? do i leave it? cut them? remove?

as a fyi i took them out in front and the truck seemed to have a bouncy feel when i pushed up and down on the truck in the driveway...

What lowering components did you use on it?

Well from my personal experience if its sittin on the bumpstops and still rides good then leave them in.....by removing them yes you will have more suspension travel but at a 5/7 drop your gonna run the risk of banging up the fenders cause the tire can travel up higher and make contact with it....just leave them in there if it rides good

Just remember that on these older trucks (GMT400 series, your 1993) the bump stops were not meant to be an active, full-time component of the suspension. They're meant for extreme situations where the suspension has been fully compressed, just to stop the metal-on-metal contact and to limit travel a little bit. If you're constantly smacking around on them, they will fail...keep an eye on them.

This is different than the newer models with a totally different kind of bumpstop which IS part of the suspension. Hell even those are crumbling and falling apart with use and they were designed with being constantly hammered on in mind.

I meant is it springs and spindles or cut springs or arms?
