The air pressure to the gun needs to be 45-50psi at the max. Sputtering culd be caused by anything , even though you have 100psi going to the gun, there is a air pressure knob on the gun itself that can be adjusted. Your tip and neddle could have paint caked on it , I recommend taking the gun apart and placing it in something like a bucket full of reducer after each use. When using paints that include an activator, the paint has a tendacy to stick to the tip and needle even though you might have sprayed reducer through the gun. So just try to clean the gun, make sure you airflow and paintflow mixture knob is adjusted correctly and try and just spray reducer through it first and concentrate on the fog that is blowing out of the gun and make sure it spraying correctly before you spray your paint. Sorry for the book hope i could have helped you.
