I`m trying to get my pump back together but I`m not sure how the head seal is supposed to go back in? Also, the hole that goes through the block for the shaft, there is a larger opening on the block side and on the pump side. Which side is the seal supposed to be flush with? Could someone give me some insight? Thanks alot fellas

the way the seal is in the top pic is how it goes in. what you need to do is put the seal onto the pumphead first. slide it over the shaft all the way down then tap it into the pumphead til it bottoms out. once you get that done, mount the pumphead to the block and tighten the 4 bolts to about 25ft. lbs. of torque and you are redy to finish assembly.

Ok. Well then this explains why I went through a motor with this pump about a year ago. I had the seal in backwards, and tapped it into the block instead. Just had bought a whole new setup. Well I appreciate it homie

Alright got it figured out now. One more thing. Is there any way you can take a pump head apart and determine what number gear it is? Or is this something you pretty much have to know when purchasing? All it says is "Pompe 2000 G".
