Anybody ever rebuild a wiring harness for a TBI truck?

Picked up a '90 Suburban with a TBI 454/TH400 with the intent of using the engine and trans in my '77. I was planning on swapping the entire wiring harness over as well.

The factory harness from the firewall port under the brake booster and the portion for the TBI from the computer forward is pretty thrashed. I'm actually surprised this truck even ran. I haven't began testing for continuity, but that aside, most of the plastic connectors are broken or otherwise damaged.

Has anyone rebuilt a factory harness? Where did you source the connectors, etc? Is there anyone out there that makes a replacement harness for this truck?

Doubt you'll find a ready-made harness specific to that truck brand new. As far as connectors, you can use Rockauto's site, NAPA's, etc. to figure out pigtail part #'s then I strongly suggest you go look 'em up on both Amazon and eBay to save some bucks, some will still be expensive, but nothing like what you'd pay from the regular parts houses. They're goddam proud of some of them.

And if it were me I'd be soldering and heat-shrinking all the connections, screw crimp connectors. And use the good heat shrink like you score at real electronics places, not Radio Shack's plasticy junk. The good stuff has a rubber-like consistency and shrinks better.

I kinda figured I'd be soldering on a bunch of pigtails, but it was worth a shot.

...and thanks for the tips on Amazon/Ebay, Homie. I'll check 'em out.

Never done business with these guys but check 'em out

Also AC Delco has a lot of connectors listed on their site but it's organized for fuck-all, hard to find what you need, IMO.
if nothing else, good for figuring out part #'s to buy somewhere else.
