hey guys, I have a question for you guys with the 84-88 yotas doored. will a 215-35 18 fit under the hood? I am looking at a set to put on my 84 but I don't want them going thru the hood. it has 17's on it now with the low pros but I want to go as big as possible. anybody got some info?

Why not just use a tire calculator to see the height difference?

mine's not doored, but it was mocked up for a set of 215/35/19's & i still have about an inch or so. i think i could possibly go 20s, but again, i'm just rocker with the pinch cut off so i THINK you could do 18's on the door, but use that calculator mike suggested, in case i'm lying to you...

my 94 is doored and fits 18's without sticking out. but it rubs layed out and i have 35 series tires..

Mines to the rocker with 20s so I would think an 18 would fit its only like two more inches of body drop. I guess it depends on how deap you body drop is.

stock floored to flat rocker, then traditional to the door. like 5". didn't cut the bottoms of the doors off so stock door. I think they will clear but I want to be sure before I go out and buy wheels that I can't use. ya know. wish I could do 20's. I want to be able to rail it without smoking the tires off in the front, when I get a hood back on it. I need to get some mounts to lower my motor down. sticks out like crazy, and the damn radiator sticks out like 2" now that the rockers are gone. what would be a good radiator to switch into it? civic mabye? hey wayne, my truck is only 40" tall too.doored and chopped, thats all I can reveal.

205/40/17 is 23.5 inches tall, a 215/35/18 is 23.9 inches tall. Not much of a difference between the two so it depends on how your 17s fit.
