compressor relay

my relay keeps melting and the fuse keeps poppin on my compressor...what digs?

what compressor are you running
what else is on that circuit
what size is the wire
and what size fuse are you using

my guess is the wire or relay is too small....i had one of the common bosch relays melt down on mine with 1 480 on it....so now i have a 80 amp audio relay on it (stinger...i think if u get an old ford starter relay maybe..it is the same thing)......then i would make sure u have 8-10 ga wire...then like a 40 amp fuse or so

could be wrong, but thats my guess
