i got a b2600 with a 2-peice driveline and a 4-link already installed which i believe is wrong so i'm redoing the 4-link setup to a triangulated and starting at setting the pinon. i'm having a little trouble at setting pinon because it seems like everything i read is a little bit different. so here's what i think. let me know if i'm completely off or on the right track.

so pinon should be parallel to trans output shaft. at ride height my trans points down about 7 degrees so the pinon should be 0 which should be exactly parallel to trans.but since 0 angles are bad for u-joints i would set pinon at negitive 2 degrees. now the other thing to worry about is makeing sure all u-joints have some degree on them. this is whear i'm not sure how to figure out unless the term "opperating angle" is the angle on the u-joint? for example my trans points down 7 and first shaft points down 4 that would mean i have 3 degrees operating angle, so 3 degrees on the first u-joint? just want to make sure this is right so far.

thanks.

I think that you have a good idea as to how most of it goes. To be perfectly honest, I still wrestle with split driveshaft angles. I wouldn't worry too much about the u-joints (except the trans joint) having angle in it, you're building an adjustable suspension, the joints will all see enough angle to keep them from wearing out prematurely. If it were a static drop then maybe I would worry.

so as long as the shaft leaving the tranny isn't the same angle as the tranny i should be fine? if tranny points down 7 and as long as the shaft leaving isn't 7 i'll be fine. and probably the same for pinon. if i'm going to point pinon down 2 the shaft leaving should be something other than 2. this would mean i would have some angle on both u-joints. if this is right than i think i got it.

thanks.

after reading my first post pinon should be +2, not -2, pinon should be eaqual but opposite of tranny output shaft.

I think you got it. Good luck!
