Kind of a lame question for a Custom Forum.. but here goes.

I pulled the breaks apart on tha rear of the Accord Wagon.. (The are disks)
The pads were toast! 1/32" mabye. Any way, I COULD NOT push the piston back intot he caliper to save my life!! I messed with it for two hrs before I had to call it a night. Is it possible that the piston was so far out of the caliper that it kinda fell out of its little hole and just needs re-alligned (cant tell with out ripping the little boot off, and I didnt want to tear it up if i didnt have to.)It looks alligned though..??
I tried releasing the pressure by opening up the blead off zerk. Any ideas?? thanks guys! I feel kind silly about this one!! what kind of dip *hit has trouble replacing breaks!!!! (ME- Hahahahaaaa)

it could be a screw in type piston. look and see if there is a slot in the piston to turn it in.

I use a c clamp and a flat plate or an old brake pad.

its spelled "BRAKES"

Sorry aqbout the spellling... -been up all night...I starteqd werk at 6 pm yesternday, whne i get off work in another hour i'll tear into the brakes.. (hey maby thats my problem?) Hahahaaa

Any way there is a "cross" indentation on the head of the piston... never thought about it screwing in... ??? I read the Chilton's on it, As you know, It didnt have anything of use to say.
Yea i tried the C-clamp Idea, to no avail.
Thank You for the thoughts, I'll give it a shot!

the cross should mean that they screw in. I added some Isuzu disc brakes to a Mazda rearend once and they had that. I couldnt get them to go in until I screwed the piston in. good luck!

Cool man thanks!

All of the hondas that I have changed the rear brakes on were screw in. Dont feel bad, I did the same thing on a CRX a several years ago.

O.K. well now that i dont feel too bad about it... I might as well try to think ahead to any other questions i might have....

Just screw it in til it bottoms out, then put it all back together, and as I pump the break pedal a few times, they will self adjust. Right?
Any other tricks?
--Thanks guys!

You've got it Shawn, i dont know if you've already put them back, but if not you can go to like autozone and rent the piston tool for like a $30 deposit. thats if you dont wanna buy the tool.

you're right...you just screw them in till they bottom out & then they'll self adjust after that. the tool is all fine & dandy, but channel locks are just fine.

don't worry about it, i've had my ass kicked by it before...
