i recently cut the wheelwells of my 99 sonoma (zq8 if it matters) to allow my front end to fully lay out. we noticed that the hump on the lower CA is hitting the frame. ive heard of people dehumping the arms, but im trying to figure out why i should have to in order to lay an 18 with a 40 series tire. i have 2 inch spindles as well.

my roommates 01 dime lays frame fine, no modifications to the arms with my wheels. are the s10 and sonoma arms different?

because a 40 series tire is big and it about the same as a 20 with a small tire. if u had a 35 series tire on your 18s i dont think u would have to dehump your lowers. but i am drnk right now so i might be off a lil

dont think so. right now its sittin on stock 16s with a 40 series tire and its still not layn out. im just curious if the lowers are different between a sonoma and s10. they look identical and there was nothing done differently to my roommates truck. it just doesnt make sense to me... so i was wondering if someone could shed some light on it

I had that problem on my S10. I just cut the frame a little more. I've had people rag me about it but I've been beating on it for more than 3 years now and nothing has separated, bent, tweaked....and after looking at alot of owner's profiles on here, it's more common than what I thought.

I just don't like the look of a de-humped lca.

Maybe his is cut just enough to clear the arm? I've heard of ZQ8's having a different lca part # but never checked in to it.

are your bag cups longer?

cup size shouldnt matter. you could take all the air suspension out of the front end and when the front lays down, the lower CA would still hit the frame.

mreed... thats a huge F'n hole. not sure i wanna do that. prolly end up dehumping the arms. but if anyone knows about the part numbers on the lower CA's, ive got a bet going with my roommate that they are different.

no u dont have to de hump the arms, notch the fram like the pic above, most people who bag the s10-sonoma will notch the frame and with bigger wheels pie cut the arms. ive done two. u if it is king cab you will have to do something with the cross member as well.
