Does suck. One of my first memories of being introduced to the scene was back in '92-'93 I remember these tricked out sentras parked in that ghetto parking lot in front of Street Beat (when that crack house was there). I remember asking the dude that worked there if those sentras had cut springs, and he replied, "No, they all have pulled springs." At the time I thought that was soooo cool!

I was just down there to pick up somthing last week. Tommy was a cool guy, so I am sorry if he lost his job, but the other 2 guys that were there need to be working in the back anyway. They just sat there and stared at thier computer screens while I stood there and waited for them to do something to help me. If one of them is reading this they will remember me. I called before I showed up because I couldn't remember where it was. People in Phoenix will get this... I asked if they were south of the I10, or south of the I10 truck route. The guy said yes. I am thinking what? which one? Basically there is a point where the I17 goes straight and curves to the east and becomes "I10 truck route", or if you get off the freeway before it turns you can get on to the regular old I10 freeway. Then they come back together around 20th st. The guy had no idea which one he was off of, and was being a Dick on the phone. He didn't know if they were north or south of the airport, north or south of the river bottom, nothing. All he knew was he was south of the 10. WHich one genious????? Then I get there and I can totally tell which guy he was. I was laughing inside. Oh well, just ranting.

Well I talked to a reliable source, MAX today... My information was jaded and came from employees that were layed off. Streetbeat will be still be here for us locals and to better serve us the call center has been moved. This won't affect anything and if anything will be better for us. Max and Tommy are very knowledgable and are seasoned veterans at streetbeat. I am happy to hear this and will continue to shop there.

I am sorry for any confusion this may have caused, I thought that when I heard from more than one reliable source that it was true... It was not. It does suck to see so many employees let go but it was a business decision.

It DID get bought out, but appearently they are going to save the store in Phoenix and just run the call center outta state.
