I alway took a measurement with the vehicle at ride height- then took that number to the parts house and bought some monroes that split that number in travel. Say if it was 14" mount to mount- I'd run a shock that 14" was the middle of the stroke.(for example: shock that is 12" collapsed and 16" extended). I put "drop" shocks on my first lowered truck, and said never again.LOL
