What shocks do i need

New to the forum and glad i found it. I have a 1986 reg cab dually and just put the western chassis 5-7 kit on. I would like to know if there any shocks that i can buy from a local parts house that will work with this setup or do i need order aftermarket drop shocks. .....Thanks in advance

I alway took a measurement with the vehicle at ride height- then took that number to the parts house and bought some monroes that split that number in travel. Say if it was 14" mount to mount- I'd run a shock that 14" was the middle of the stroke.(for example: shock that is 12" collapsed and 16" extended). I put "drop" shocks on my first lowered truck, and said never again.LOL

That makes sense to me...I didnt know if i could get different length shocks in that same style...thanks for your help !!
