Horn button wire get's wrapped around steering shaft?

I've had my steering wheel installed on my 2000 Dodge Ram for several months now and yesterday the wiring for my horn button got wrapped around the steering shaft. I can not use the factory clock spring because there is not enough room with the adaptor and all the wires for the airbag and cruise control are in the way. I don't need the airbag wire but I have relocated the cruise control as well. How am I suppose to wire the horn button?

I mounted the clock spring under the dash and ran a wire for the horn up the steering column through the adaptor and to the horn button. But after you turn the wheel a few times, the wire gets wrapped around the shaft. Is there something I can buy to make my horn button work the way it should? Thanks!

Ive been staring at it, but still cant think of anything that wouldnt be too complicated. My horn button wire is tucked away inside the column. Im still searching though...

dang thats a odd on.e I put a billet wheel on my sonoma but never hooked up the horn to make it wokr not enough room in mine. in all my years driving i think i used my horn 2 times.

This is all you need if you can find a small one with 1 wire. Its called a miniature slip ring. Google "rotating electrical connections" and you will find alot of companies.

I just put a button on the right of my column because mine kept doing that.

Hey Travis thanks for the info! I'm going to look into it because I think that will solve my problem! Surely I could get one of those cheap. I kept trying to think of a pulley setup to keep it from wrapping around the column

what about getting the horm setup from another truck without an airbag and make it work should be just 2 plates that contact eachother.....seems simple just gotta find one that will fit the steering shaft...
