Just got home from autozone after the ever famous engine light came on for the first time in 5yrs and this is the code i got p0420, which is the catalytic converters the ability to store oxygen. has anyone had this problem before and what ended up being the cause?

theres no such code discription of cats ability to store oxygen. P0420 should be a cat efficiency code. which means in lamen terms the cat can no longer clean the exhaust emission between the a/f sensor and o2 sensor. the best and only real fix is to replace with a new cat, a/f sensor,and o2 sensor. i recommend factory parts due to the fact that toyotas are really sensitive and aftermarket parts dont react well with toyota ecm's.
