I was wondering how thick are semi adapters? I know that they are roughly 13.5" in diameter but I am not sure on how thick they are.

Anyone?

7/8" from what I have heard

Does that include the lip that the semi wheel rides on or just the thickness of where the studs mount?

I can't say this to be true for every adapter out there...

But the ones I'm familiar with the outside face of the adapter is flush (except for the built in hub ring for the semi wheel). The backs are machined/cast with a taper to bring the surface of the adapter that meets up with the vehicles hub (where you bolt it to the vehicle, 8 bolt pattern) down to .500". The thickness of the adapter where the (10 bolt bolt pattern) semi studs comes thru is usually in the .875" - 1.000" range. To account for the splined collar of the stud.

There was another discussion on here about what the adapter would do to the offset of the wheel and I was intending to reply, but I forgot to.

So for you guys who where asking how much the adapter would add to the offset it's only 1/2".

Hope this made sense,

Darrell

Thanks for the heads up. I was kicking around the idea of making some. I am not sure if it would be cheaper in the long run after buying the steel, studs and nuts.

Usually not worth your time. Price out 40 studs and nuts for the wheel side and another 32 nuts for the adapter to rotor. Unless you have a lathe and a way to drill them perfectly, you end up not saving anything.

Yeah i have a machine shop with CNC mills and a few lathes.
