The fuel pump went out in my 01 silverado ext cab bagged on 22s. I took the tank out and the pump and the pump was busted all up from the tank hitting the ground. Dont want to put the gas tank in the bed? Can i raise it? A buddy has a fuel cell for sell that im thinking about gettin. I quess will get it and cut a hole in it for a factory pump. Has anyone ran a inline pump on a new chevy? How about some pics of fuel cells in bed and in frame!!

yes you can just raise your tank. front brase sets on top of frame rail. cut front brase and raise 1" w/ spacer. rear brase goes between frame rails. cut rear brase and raise to where the brase top of brase is flush w/ top of frame and weld back in place. notch out front bed brace for raised brase. this is what i did on mine. just thought though that yours is and ex cab but should be the same process, someone correct me if im wrong though. this will keep your tank under your bed and still keep stock filler if wanted. hope this helps

IS it the stock tank? and yes you can raise it but not much of its stock. I raised my stock one about 1.5" in the front before it hit the cab and about 2 inches in the back. I raised mine and it still rubbed and hit the ground. Got the devious tank and it was fine till I tubbed the front and got a hole in it. I got mine in the bed now. doesn't rub their or drag.

just get a drag proof tank from Grant it raises your tank in the factory location and i think its like 40 dollars extra and they make it where you can slap your new pump right in the tank and put it in then your prob is done check out grantkustoms.com reall cool guys over there give them a call they will take care of you i found it for you man

Grant makes some awsome tanks too. But they sell the devious stock replacement tanks. They don't make their one. I popped to holes in mine from riding like a few inches off the ground when deviouse said it would raise the tank above the frame rails.

yea thanks. I want to lay frame drag some cant do that with the stock tank under the truck. scared if i put a new fuel pump in it and leave the tank in stock location it will just bust again. I like to ride real low in the back all the time. The tank is always hitting obstacles in the road tired of it. Dont want to spend the money for a devious tank. This is a cruiser not a show truck. Need pics of fuel cell set ups

Where are your air tanks? Because you can Put it where your spare tire went if you make a bracket for it.
