converting at 95 s10 from manual to auto

I was tinkering with the idea or throwing an auto tranny in a 95 that had a manual....i assume this has been done man times before but I want to know what all has to be changed and if it is worth the effort

haha i sold my 95 just because it needed a new auto trans. it was too expensive.. i guess you can use a turbo 350 or 700r4

computer and harness is different. buddy tried and it would not shift without changing computer

this is almost a month old... however.. i recently converted my 95 5 speed to a th350... nothing has to be done to the computer cause the 350 isnt computer controlled.. you need a shifter... i had to modify my tranny crossmember, and lengthen my 2 piece drive shaft. a 350 will bold right up to a 4.3, thats if yours is a 4.3

Yah a 4.3 is the same thing as a 350 engine but minus 2 cylinders....if you want to upgrade to a TH350 tranny, but keep in mind it's only a 3 speed...

a 700r4 would be a better choice or a 4l460e with an aftermarket controller. I had a 350 laying around and im completely satified with it.
