I dont have a catalytic converter on my Toyota & Im running a 40 series Flowmaster too. Its got a low tone at idle, but when you get on the throttle it really opens up & gets loud! As for more power then you can always go with a street performance camshaft, bigger throttle body & a good
ignition system will help as well.

on my 78 yota ive got a weber carb, pacesetter 1-5/8 longtube header and a 30" long cherry bomb. it has a turndown right by the front of the leaf spring. its loud as hell. good power too. atleast as much as my old 92 had with an exhaust and k&n element. and those are rated 20hp higher from the factory than a 78 20r. only issue is with that header, on my style truck, it hangs below the frame about an inch and a half. the lc might not. on your truck it might not. but i know the PS was like 140 bucks. that was my deciding factor. and i didnt have to hammer it all up like some headers make you do on stuff.

just give up toyotas suck.
your never gonna get power out of a 22re to be happy, so unless your doing it for cosmetic reasons just skip the bolt ons.
if you want a loud exhaust just put a nice big hole in your exhuast dont waste your money on a header, save up for a bodydrop, toyotas aren't race cars they just look good slammed.

stick with lookin cool and goin slow! saves money in the long run! ie. no tickets or raised insurance premiums for those tickets.

and loud jus draws more attention from the police to pull you over and write a book on your truck!

keep'em low and slow

if this is true, why in the WORLD do circle track guys run these motors? a lot might I add.

lets not let this one turn into a huge feud over weather 4 bangers can be fast.

anyways, a nice header and exhaust system will make it sound pretty good. will help the power a bit too. but i would still suggest the header from pacesetter due to the price. but, the lc one is stainless and also looks like it would tuck up better.
