Russ-D: Rebuilding stock motor in 88 B2600 4x4 with M/T. Not sure which Weber to go with. Considering all three - the 34 DGEC, 32/36 DFEV (DGEV?) & the 38 DGES. Which would you go with?

i'd say the 32/36 dgev. i had one on my zu and it worked great, had plenty of power, and also gets good gas mileage.

Everything I can find online from Weber shows the 32/36 DFEV for the B2600 (not he DGEV). Can anyone confirm?

well, the 88 2.6 is a mistu motor. i would try to find the dgev. but since the intake is on the opposite side than a regular b series the dfev might be your only option.

Thanks, Jim. Yes it's the mitsi motor. Do you mean then that the dfev is the one that matches up with the mitsi or it may be all I can get?

i took a dgas off a b2600 at our local wrexking yard bought it for 15$ rebuilt it thewn sold it and a dgec togeather for $300

yes, that might be the only one you can get, just because of the throttle cable routing. now dont hold me too that though. thats just my educated guess. i would suggest calling a place that advertises the dfev and ask if they can get any other carbs.

I would go with a 38/38. The 32/36 is a modest improvement for the B2200 I'm sure it would be borderline undersized for the 32/36. If you do end up going with something smaller than a 38/38 definetly get the taller air filter if it doesn't come with it. That shorty piece of crap they sell with them doesn't have enough surface area for a bug much less you're 2600.

Update on this old post - we decided on the 32/36 for the '88 B2600 4x4.  We now have a "new" remanufactured 2.6 engine for a B2600 with a new Weber 32/36 carb and new radiator  but  no truck.  The 88 B2600 4x4 was wrecked by my stepson.  Now my question is, is there any model other than an 87 or 88 B2600 that this engine will go in.  We either need to find something to put it in or sell.  We're in North Carolina.  Anyone have any ideas?

i would imagine any of the same body style really... my buddy and i put a mazda 626 2.2L (block) in my 87 mazda B2000 with my head, and the thing runs like a champ!!! weber carb was already on the truck when i bought it... someone blew the head gasket and it was locked up... a reman must have cost you a fortune... i priced one before i bought the wrecked mazda with a good motor, and the cost them gave me was like 2K with the core!!!
