I know this doesn't seem like a Mini Truckin Forum but.... It kinda is. Here's my problem... I can't save any pics to my puter. Anyone know why this may be? Normally I save every pic of and custom. Tehn sort them into make and model folders. It's kinda another hobby of mine. SO PLEASE, ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GET BACK TO SAVING PICS?

First thing I'd say is to reboot if you haven't turned the machine off since your problem started.

after that, start with the basics...... check for windows updates,run a virus scan if you have good anti-virus. If not then I recommend to get AVG free edition at free.grisoft.com, some others may not like it, us computer nerds only have one good AV program that we stick to, kinda like buyin bags. You can also get avira antivir or Avast!. If you want to pay for a program, get Kaspersky. Stay away from Norton, CA, or McAfee, they use too many resources and slow your ass down.

Anyway, update your virus definitions,turn off system restore, run a scan,turn system restore back on and retry the pic. download.

if that doesn't work and you've done both of the above, try a system restore. If a virus has been causing it (like the Sasser virus or Blaster), then it will come back once system restore has been finished.

All system restore will do is put your settings back into their state at an earlier date, so it won't get rid of a virus.

First check if your hard drive is not full, spyware should not stop you from saving pics on your pc. Do you get and errors? open my computer icon and then right click the c: drive or which ever letter drive you have as your main drive, and click properties and see what space is used and what is left, you should do that first, can you save any thing else files, word, powerpoint? pics take up alot of room, you can call me if you like just pm me and i'll give you my number.

I'm using a external hard drive with almost 300GB of free space. No virus found on any of my hard drives ( I have three. Two internal..) I have been able to save other types of documents but NO picture files. Just pictures. I can't save them on any of my hard drives. The system restore has also been done as well. And still nothing. Thanks for your help!

Also can't upload any saved pictures I have. Could it be an internet connection problem? Like signal strength?

signal strength shouldn't be a problem. Even if your network is at a crawl, you'll just download the pic at an extremely slow rate.


can you change the file type? For instance, if you typically save as a .JPEG, can you save as a .TIF or .BMP?

you can try cleaning out your temp folders.

i use CCleaner its a real good freeware program that can be used to clean your temp folders and remove items from start up as well as uninstalling programs. you can just search it on yahoo, i'm at work and cant reach the link to download.

Are you having hard time downloading any programs from Net aswell ? CCcleaner is a good program , but if this is the Virus/Trojan that people were getting from this site that blocked saving/downloads
