I know you are only trying to help. And you came across sincere, which is rare in the internet. So here is my response. The crossmember is chromo, the tabs welded to it are chromo, the frame it is welded to is stock mild steel, the corner gussets from the frame to the tube are mild. All of that is mig'd. The links are chromo and all tig'd. I am not worried about welding chromo with a mig. There are many arguments about how to weld every different type of metal with every different type welder and wire, rod, ect. I will not start one here. All I will say is that offroad race vehicles have cromo welded with a mig, it is good enough for my mini truck. Here's a pic for you, and I know this is chromo, mig welded, and NOT heat treated.
