I just installed some fatmat in my truck, I had the doors open and forgot to turn the dome light switch off.

So my battery died, no big deal, I got a set of jumper cables jumped started it.

I had to give it some gas to get it to fire up, and then I had to keep giving it gas in order to keep it running. Weird....

I unhooked the cables and it will crank over, so I know the battery is charged and holding a charge.

What should I do?

I don't want to have to pay to have it towed somewhere to find out it was something simple that I can fix myself for cheap.

Any help is appreciated.

Fatmat is just like dynamat, I only installed it in the cab though, not under the hood or anything like that. I will check the gas pedal linkage in the morning, because I did pull the carpet out an could have moved the linkage.

The truck will turn over and really try to start, but if I don't give it gas it dies. And if I give it gas and then quit giving gas, it dies.

It's dang hard to give the engine gas and shift into drive, lol. Kinda puts a damper on my holiday weekend plans too.

All I did was take my battery in and have it checked, it was bad. I bought an optima red top and the truck runs like a champ.
