97 Ranger question (starting prob)

okay guys my 97 Ranger wont start. When i turn the key on all i hear is a clicking in the fuse box under the hood, the positive battery terminal gets substantially hot warm to the feel. I turn the key to on and no dash lights no stereo lighting. Any ideas? the battery is new. Nothing has ever went out on the truck til now.. any clues or ideas?

is the battery hooked up correctly? is the terminal clean/in good shape?

still could be a bad battery even though its new...are you sure the clicking is coming from the fuse box and not your starter solenoid? if its not coming from your started solenoid then try replacing that but before you replace it, tap on it with a hammer a couple times.. its like a 5 dollar part... or if you know what your doing you can jump it off to test also
