97 s-10 axle removal

how do i remove the axle from the housing.i've got the diff covre off and the gears are exposed.where do i go from here.

btw , the axle pad where the wheel mounts to has been broken off in an accident so i hope i dont need any kind of puller on that end.thanks guys

i believe it has c-clips that hold them in

some of them have clips my tahoe did not sure how its set up since the cover is off spin the diff till you see a little 8 mm bolt it goes threw a cross pin. unbolt the screw and pull the pin out reaching your finger around the back and pop it out to you. try not to move diff dont want to lose spider gears. push both axles in and the c clip usually falls out of not reach in where the pin used to be and pop it out. then pull axle out be sure to pull it out straight so you dont mangle the seal on the outer end of the rearend

i don't see either one of these.
no c- clip ,or bolt.

is there 4 bolts right behind the dust shield or the backing plate where the axle and the bearign come out as one thats how my maz is thought chevys had the clips
