coilovers

I am going to swap out the torsion bars on a truck for coilovers. I was wondering if anyone could give me pointers on how to mount them. I plan on building custom upper and lower mounts, but don't know how to set the ride height. How do I know how much the coilover will collapse when under load? Do the coilover manufacturers have specs on how much they will collapse?
