Hi all,

New guy with a question. Recently bought a 1989 Chevy V3500 4dr, 4x4, 96k. Only upgrade, that I can tell, is that it has 19.5" rims on it with standard truck tires (not low profile). I recently replaced all 4 shocks.

My problem is this. Occasionally, and usually when braking, 30-40 mph, it starts shaking violently. This shaking is coming from the seat and not the steering.

And every once in awhile I will hit a bump at approx the same speed, not braking, I get the same kind of shaking.

I have searched the forums here and the internet and have not found a lot info on this set of symptons. If it happened every time I braked that would be easy but it happens infrequently.

Any suggestions/thoughts would be useful!

Thanks!

DZL1,

I will definitely checkout the u-joints and driveshafts.

I will say that mine is doing is substantially worse than "vibrating". It's more like violent shaking. It's pretty bad. It doesn't happen all the time so it's hard to diagnose.

Thanks for the help!
