On my last truck, I had a problem with my adapters getting rusty. Once they were rusty it was difficult to get the wheels off and also would run rust color water spots on my wheels.

Any ideas to prevent this? I thought about a powder coat but I think with the wheels being hub centric this could cause a fitment problem.

Hmmm. Some kind of protective coating that wouldn't have a "thick" film layer.

Cadmium (cad) or maybe zinc plating? I think you can do the zinc at home, but from what I've read it looks like a pain in the ass. There a plating shop near you that you could talk to?

Alright I will have to check that out... they should come coated for sure!
