1981 LUV in perfect shape!

My Grandma's neighbor has a 1981 Chevy LUV in PERFECT shape sitting in his driveway. The body is as clean as it new. I have no Idea how many miles or what enine it has. I know he drives it daily, except in the winter (he is in Florida). The only thing that I can see wrong with it is it has a POS white camper-shell on it, and I'd just take it off.

Does anybody have any idea what it is worth? I want to go to him with cash in hand and see if he will part with it. As far as I know, the 1981 is extremely rare, on SSM there are none and on cardomail.com there are only 4 crappy 81 LUVs. I'm hoping he will part with it for a few hundred, but who knows..

He could be pretty attached to it if he has held onto it for this long, maybe you want to talk to him first and get a feel for the situation. There is a guy around my area that has a rst free 79 LUV from Arizona, original paint and all. He has been trying to unload it for the last couple of years with no luck. The last time I saw it the price had slid down to 3k and there were no takers. I'm waiting it out to see how low he will go on the price, it would look good next to my HILUX.
