I'm really thinking about running a set of 22's on my sled, but it's been so long, I don't remember all the particulars...

Will 4 typical offset 22's out back stick out past the fenders? For some reason, I thought the narrowed axle/widened fenders/Townastys were only required if you were bagged because of the taper of the fenders interfered with the wheels as the truck dropped down.

Gotta be all 22's for me...no 16"er on the inside. What are my options?

I believe this truck has 4 standard offset semis on the rear axle. You can kinda see the outer is about maybe a couple inches past the fender.

Lock has said that he can mill the wheel faces to pull them in a little, but I'm not sure how much. Maybe 3/4" per side.

my TowNasty's barely fit in the fender with a steel inner, I don't believe you will get 2 aluminum wheel's to tuck at all with out a fender or axle mod. I got my aluminum inners and will wide'n the fenders to clear .

I thought 4 22's required a C&C axle? Jeez...you know the answer is somewhere on here, probably about 20 different times, but just not right in front of you when you need to know.

Campy...the truck actually looks damn good with the Alcoa 16's.

This. I thought C&C axles sucked the rear wheels way up under the truck like a old pro street car. This may be from combining Townastys with a C&C, not sure. Or a C&C with a 16" steelie inner. Hard to tell from a pic on the innernetz.

I've seen a couple builds where guys are using shit box 1-ton SRW axles, those seem to be somewhere in between squarebody dually and C&C axles, width-wise.

Jitteryguy's truck. You can see what he's talking about here. Thanks for putting this pic up where I could steal it for my album.

This is the one Lophat's been working on for a minute. He's widened the fenders but not nearly as much as some others I've seen. So it's not out of proportion.

My plan is to mock the wheels up with no axle at all and take some measurements. If there's an off-the-shelf deal that works, then great. If not, with all the rock crawler fools around here there's got to be somebody who knows how to narrow an axle and not fuck it up.

Boyd Coddington said "get your wheels and tires first, and make the car fit them".

ok here is what you should do......the 22s will stick out a good bit past your fenders......locate a 3/4 ton truck same body style and pull the rear axle....it will bolt under your truck just like stock and is short enough to run 4 standard 22s out back.....also pick up an extra set of inner fenderwells as you will need to widen your inner fenders.....its not a big job do do the fenders and can be done in a days time

this is a 3/4 ton axle here and my 2 link is bolted to stock hangers.....so you wont have any tire/leaf spring clearance issues
