My suggestion would be to hold off until you have the money to do what you want the right way. You may create a situation where you have to redo work. If you wanna bag it, save up and then do it right. My opinion

A while back there was a light blue OBS Silverado in the mags (can't remember which one) that was static dropped & body dropped. I thought it was pretty cool. I say go for it...but body drop it flat to the bottom of the frame atleast. I think waiting until you have all of the money to do what you want would drive you nuts. What's the problem with doing it in stages that you can afford at the time as long as it's done right...other than the fact the some of the drop kit will be ditched in favor of bags.

ok what if i where to put a 4 link with coils in the rear in stead of the flip kit i have the coils in my garage from the front of another i lifted for a guy a wile a go or would that not ride good then i wont need to loose any of the drop kit

if you made a bracket for holding the coil in the rear it should ride fine. maybe a bit stiff since front springs are usually stiffer than rears. only issue there is the overall height of the spring may not fit from the axle to under the bed. or you could have it off the back of the axle so let it reach lower.

My old ranger was pretty low on static, but i ran into tire clerance in the front, but i had giant tires, drop beams and 2" coils get you pretty damn low, rear, just notch and flip, if thats not enough flip the shakles for anouther 2". BD on top of that and it will be in the weeds for sure. I say do it.

ok guys ive made my mind up im going old school huge static drop with a body drop and some 15 inch smoothie rims i think i may paint the rims and leave the caps chrome im thinking a deep burgandy paint for the truck and im shaving the door handels how they did it back in the day "no remote"
till then any advice that you think of will help this is my first ranger

ill start a build thread in the next month

you said you made your mind up already about static drop but if you have any intention of bagging it later, I would go with what uneek said and wait. I did 2 static drops on mine before bagging it and if I had it to do over again, i would have done it right the first time. Wasting money especially during rough economic times sucks after the fact. So take your time and seriously think about it. I know its not my truck but just giving my 2 cents worth

well ive been thinking about static vs bags for a wile and sence it the only part of the static that will be trashed is the flip kit that i will be making and since im laid off for the winter i have all the time in the word
