so ive had the idea of swapping from cut coils and leafs/blocks to going with coilovers on my yota. id like it bagged, but dont see it being an option anytime soon. not how id like anyways. the front end is bouncy as hell, so and the back isnt much better. what im thinking is trying to adapt a coilover kit for like a civic or something. a kit that is plentiful, therefore cheaper. ive seen the way a 96-00 civic rear struts are, its a C tab and a stud. that would work in the back of mine. and up front i could just make a couple of brackets. basically a short length of round tube to seat the spring in a stationary spot. and give me access to adjust them. run a normal shock up front.

its for my 78 toyota. i will 4 link the rear, i already have the 4 link. and im going to tub the front fenders since im basically sitting on them right now anyways, and thats after clearancing them upwards. i thought a civic or similar also because the total weight and way its distributed should be about the same as a minitruck.

does anybody have anything to ad to this? pictures, info, ect? id love to know the spring rate of a stock coil and leaf spring. or even a close figure. because i want a stiffer ride.

i would just run eye to eye coil overs for race cars, there kinda universal and have a HUGE spring selection. check speedway motors and see what they got.

that was my original idea, but ive priced that style at summit and other places, and even the cheap stuff is like 300 or more. and for that i can do bags and ball valves. ebay has civic coilover kits for like 120 most the time. and i can get a set of front shocks and rear civic shock/struts cheap from my parts guy.

As far as the back goes, you could set it up just like you would if it had bags, but instead of an air spring, use the coil over. I don't have a clue on the front. I know that there is a member on here that has a red tacoma that has coil overs in the rear with a body dropped bed. Maybe some one can point you to him.
