hey guys, my dad has a 2008 silverado 1500. we're wanting to put in an amp, but he wants to retain the stock stereo. my question is, do these stereos come ready to connect the amp right to it with a remote wire and aux outputs or do i need to buy something additional to make it work? any help will be appreciated before i tear it appart. thanks guys!

why does anybody ask questions on here. god what a bunch of retards. why doesnt someone just ask a paint shop instead of posting in the paint forums. why doesnt someone just go to a custom shop and ask them about their airbags or hydros. are you serious?

he asked the question due the fact that there are people who do work in the stereo business that frequent these forums and are willing to help other people by answering questions like that instead of posting info that doesnt help but only creates friction amongst other members...

thats why he asked

You have to use a adapter modual to hook up aftermarket equiment to stock radios. Try these guys http://peripheralelectronics.com/ they make lots of stuff for vehciles. Also rockford fosgate makes what they call a 360 it is used to hook aftermarket with stock deck.

the 3 sixty two is great if your an audiophile and you have a blutooth connection but for your everyday people, just get a hi to level adapter that taps into the factory speaker wires and converts the signal to an RCA output. Module is much cheaper than the 360
