I am a designer doing a project for hood shield packaging, i wanna get the opinion from anyone who is willing to school me about bug shields. Being a designer, i see what you all do to your cars as an art form and great personal expression... after being in the forum a bit, i would think a bug shield would degrade the level of artistry to the car. So my question is, how does everyone feel about bug shields as part of the process? Any help would really be great!

well for me... budshields may serve a purpose but not to my objective... trying to make a truck clean looking and streamline removing, emblems, cladding, moldings, handles light ect ect.. soo adding a normally UGLY budshield is outta the question and even a color matched one isnt my deal... now for someone to use on a tow pig im sure since they do work but generaly no one put its on there "nicee truck" but ofcourse thats my 2 cents

arent there those clear stick on shields that are supposed to be able to deflect rocks etc? those would be the only thing id possible consider. if thats even considered a type of bug guard? but if it was going on a show truck, i wouldnt even put the clear one on.

yea the clear chipgaurd does do that also.. but VERYYYY expensive.. we did 1 at our body shop and cost 1300 bucks!! for front clip and its like only foot on the hood... i just hate it turns color in sun (yellowish) and of course the line of where it... but i think better than a normal deflector but still

For me, I love driving my truck but the only problem is driving to shows. A six hour interstate roadtrip can do some damage. If they made a removable/reusable stick on sheild for bumpers, headlights, and hoods...theyd be on to something. Makes me think of the little window cling-on decorations
